A MUSE|STUDIO WEEKLY CHALLENGE FOR OCTOBER 17, 2011

A Muse|Studio has a rainbow of buttons to pick from...though for this challenge I used French Roast.....have I mentioned before how much I love French Roast????

I decided to try for something that was clean and simple, and think I struck just the right chord with this one!

French Roast card base, with vanilla layer and latte tag. I stamped the thank you in French Roast ink, I cut a tag with the scallop tag die out of latte card stock and then stamped the leaf. It was inked with a sponge dauber using papaya and orange ink. The veins and stem were then stamped in french roast......I threaded French Roast twine through the hole in the tag, and through the holes of the french roast button. I attached the button to the tag with a glue dot.

To assemble the card I attached the vanilla to the card base with adhesive, then popped the tag up with 3D foam squares. And there you have it! Quick and simple!

FALL IS HERE!!!

So hap-hap-happy for Fall to finally be here! The leaves are starting to turn color, the air is getting a bit cooler, and I get to play with all my leaf and fall stamps. I thought I would do something a little different for this weeks challenge over on the a muse|studio consultant challenge blog.....I made a candy bar wrapper.  Buttercup cardstock, french roast pearl stickers and variegated leaves all signal that fall is here!

I measured my candy bar to determine the size of my paper, and used my scoring board to score the fold lines. I drew up this little template to show you how to measure and score your card stock to fit the candy bar of your choice. I cut and scored my paper, then I stamped it using the maple leaf stamp from the Autumn Leaves stamp set. To get the graduated color look, I used my sponge daubers with 3 colors of ink, starting with the lightest color first in the center of the leaf, working outwards to the darkest color. The inks I used on the leaf were Papaya, Orange and Cherry. Next, using French Roast ink I stamped the saying, "Wishing you a Happy Fall" from the Fresh Foliage stamp set, adding 3 french roast pearl stickers underneath.

Wrap the label around the candy bar and secure with Tombow adhesive dots roller....and you are done!

RIBBONS A PLENTY!

It's my turn to be the challenge hostess this week, and for me lately it's all about ribbon! I love all the different kinds of ribbon that a muse|studio has to offer, grosgrain stitch, organdy, polka dot organdy, and gorgeous satin ribbon......I am so in love with the satin ribbon! For my challenge I want you to use ribbon on your project, it can be as little or as much as you like, any kind of ribbon. You don't need to use a muse|studio products to enter or to win...but if you have them, why not show them off? 

For my project, I used the Bounty Of the Season stamp set. I stamped the wheat stamp on wheat card stock with french roast ink and cut it out. I tied some french roast twine around the stems of the wheat. To make the rosette I used Nestabilities classic scalloped circles, a smaller one cut in french roast and one a bit larger in squash. I took orange satin ribbon and stitched it in small pleats and glued it to the back of the scalloped circles. To the back of the rosette I attached assorted ribbons, orange and french roast stitched grosgrain, french roast organdy polka dot, and vanilla satin. I used 3D foam tape to adhere the wheat to the front of the rosette. I used a toffee card base and adhered a strip of french roast gingham to the top third of the card, with a strip of french roast on top of the gingham. I stamped the saying at the bottom of the card in french roast ink, and then attached the rosette to the middle of the fence roast strip. The rosette could easily be turned into a pin for special award!

Autumn is my favorite time of year....the crisp cool air, the splendor of the leaves turning color......I took my inspiration from the turning colors of the leaves. I love the cute little stamp set called Fresh Foliage and have had so much fun playing with it! I decided to employ the Keep It Simple method with this card....I used the maple leaf stamp and outline from the set, and using my sponge daubers I inked the stamp using Buttercup, Orange and Cherry ink. I stamped it on Sugar card stock. I then took the outline stamp that matches the maple leaf and over stamped the leaf with French Roast ink.  To create the card I used buttercup card stock, and cut it about a 1/4 inch smaller than my French Roast 4 bar card base.  Using a scallop circle Nestabilities die, I cut an opening in the buttercup card stock for my leaf to peek through. I adhered the sugar card stock with the maple leaf behind the opening in the buttercup card stock and then adhered it to the french roast card base. I tied a bow around the card using orange satin ribbon......I used a quickie glue pen and outlined the inside edge of the scalloped circle and the "veins" of the leaves then sprinkled with diamond glitter. I then affixed 3 french roast pearl stickers on the buttercup card stock below the scalloped circle......quick and simple.....

GORGEOUS FELT FLOWERS!

I made this adorable card 

after watching this video by HRR Julie Ebersole...she is genius I say!! 

 The A Muse|Studio Holiday Catalog introduced a whole rainbow of felt. I love this felt so much and there are so many great projects you can make with it.......and it is perfect for these beautiful flowers in Julie's video. I wanted to make sunflowers, so I used buttercup and french roast felt. I used a short strip of the french roast felt and cut an equal amount off the buttercup felt so it was still 12 inches long. The sticky tape held the 2 colors tight together. I started rolling from the french roast end so it would be the center of the flower. I loved the big one so much I wasn't content with one, and decided I needed another one, but just a little smaller.....so I cut the felt strip 1 1/2 inches wide and then proceeded with the directions as before. When I snipped the felt, I made the snips closer together. To make the card I used a french roast card base, 4 bar size, and stamped the cross stitch border stamp from the Mad For Plaids set in buttercup ink in two places on the card. I then inked the leaf from the Graphic Sunflower set in buttercup and made the leaves for the sunflower. I stamped the word Hello from the Graphic Sunflower set at the bottom of one of the flower stems in buttercup ink. I then affixed the flowers to the card using Glue Dots. Hope you will try making one of these flowers for your next project...you'll get hooked on them I'm sure!!!!

WEEKLY CHALLENGE POSTED.....

This weeks challenge over on the A Muse|Studio Challenge blog is up! The challenge this week is to use dimension on your card....since I love using pop dots and foam to pop things up on my cards I chose them to add dimension to my card....I created this one for the challenge, using the new pebble card stock rom the holiday catalog. I love this color, it is so versatile, and I think it adds an elegant touch to the navy.

Here are the directions and the list of all the materials I used, all my materials are A Muse|Studio, and can be found in my online web store where you can order direct, or if you prefer, drop me an email and I can assist and order it for you.

I used the pebble card stock for the card base, and using the Nestabilities Labels One, I cut one large label out of Navy, and one smaller label out of pebble. I stamped the frame with navy ink on the smaller pebble label using the stamp positioned, and then stamped the thank you stamp inside the stamped frame with the stamp positioned. I put twinkle stickers 3 on one side, 2 on the other on the sides of the stamped frame. I used the Sakura Quickie glue pen on the top and bottom tear drops, and sprinkled with diamond glitter. Then I adhered the larger label to the card base using 3D mount foam, and then using the 3 D foam mount attached the stamped pebble label on top of the navy label. I tied a bow around the top of the card using satin navy ribbon. Easy and quick card that looks very elegant. Thanks for stopping by and visiting.
