HAPPY 2012!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Welcome to a new year of stamping adventures, with lots of exciting and fabulous A Muse|Studio goodness to come!

I will be continuing with the Consultant Blog Challenges, and this weeks challenge is to use Embossing Powder. I love the white embossing powder and have really put it to work with Christmas cards....but now that Christmas is over it's time to write the Thank You notes....so I came up with a a very simple thank you using 2 different stamp sets....I love the clean simplicity of the design, and couldn't resist making more than one in a different color......I loved the tree from the Loving Memories stamp set, and paired it up with the Thank You from the Hand Scripted set. I punched a circle with the darker color and then stamped and embossed the tree with white embossing powder. I then stamped the Thank You on the lighter card base, and again, embossed with the white embossing powder. I tied the satin ribbon around the end with a knot, and attached the circle using a 3D foam square. Clean and simple!

WEEKLY CHALLENGE POSTED.....

This weeks challenge over on the A Muse|Studio Challenge blog is up! The challenge this week is to use dimension on your card....since I love using pop dots and foam to pop things up on my cards I chose them to add dimension to my card....I created this one for the challenge, using the new pebble card stock rom the holiday catalog. I love this color, it is so versatile, and I think it adds an elegant touch to the navy.

Here are the directions and the list of all the materials I used, all my materials are A Muse|Studio, and can be found in my online web store where you can order direct, or if you prefer, drop me an email and I can assist and order it for you.

I used the pebble card stock for the card base, and using the Nestabilities Labels One, I cut one large label out of Navy, and one smaller label out of pebble. I stamped the frame with navy ink on the smaller pebble label using the stamp positioned, and then stamped the thank you stamp inside the stamped frame with the stamp positioned. I put twinkle stickers 3 on one side, 2 on the other on the sides of the stamped frame. I used the Sakura Quickie glue pen on the top and bottom tear drops, and sprinkled with diamond glitter. Then I adhered the larger label to the card base using 3D mount foam, and then using the 3 D foam mount attached the stamped pebble label on top of the navy label. I tied a bow around the top of the card using satin navy ribbon. Easy and quick card that looks very elegant. Thanks for stopping by and visiting. CONSULTANT CHALLENGE

Here is the card I made using the kissing technique, it was so fun to do that once I got started I wanted to get more stamps to kiss with!



I started out with a Grass card base, I cut the * 1/2 X11 sheet in half, so I had a 5 1/2 X8 1/5 piece, that I folded in half. Then I cut a piece of Sugar yardstick slightly smaller than the card case. Next I stamped the Harlequin background stamp in French Roast ink, and kissed it on the Woodgrain background stamp.....when I stamped the harlequin stamp onto the sugar card stock, I was not impressed....so I took the woodgrain stamp and stamped it on another piece of sugar card stock and liked it much better, and voila, my background was created! I attached it to the Grass card base. I then cut a one inch strip of Buttercup card stock and adhered it to the background layer in the middle of the card. Next I stamped the leaves from the Beautiful Botanicals 2 set in Grass ink, then kissed them with one of the flowers from the same set. I then cut around the leaves and adhered them to the card with foam squares. Next I stamped the butterfly from the Just Because set with Buttercup ink on Sugar card stock and kissed it to the smallest dots in the Polka Dot Patterns set and cut it out.(A little confession here, I lightly inked the dots with Cranberry ink first, to give the butterfly a little color.) I bent the wings where they joined the body slightly forward, then I cut a thin piece of foam from a square, and put it on the back of the body of the butterfly and adhered it to the leaves. I stamped the greeting from the Contemporary Greetings set in Grass ink on Sugar card stock, cut the sentiment out and inked the edges of the sentiment with Grass ink and adhered it to a slightly larger piece of Buttercup card stock with a foam square. I then adhered it to the lower left side of the card.
