SMILE!!!

I made this sweet card for my Uncle.....my mother said when she went to see him in the nursing home that he wants to write to his friends, but he doesn't have any cards......so I thought I would make him some.....this is the first one....I wanted something not too girly but still fun and cheery....

The second photo is a close up of the stamping. The stamps used are Smile from the Hand Scripted set (on page 71 of the a muse|studio catalog) the Sunflower is from the Graphic Sunflower set (page 33) and the Polka Dots from the Polka Dot Patterns set (page75) I started out with card base of Grass. I stamped the largest Polka Dot stamp twice using Grass ink. I cut a 1 inch strip of blueberry and affixed it above stamped polka dots. Using Nestabilities Labels 1 to cut the labels. I cut the largest out of cloud paper, the next smaller layer using blueberry. I stamped the sunflower randomly on the blueberry label using sky ink. I then used a smaller label and stamped Smile on it corner to corner using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I then layered the labels into the card. I popped the smile layer up on foam tape. Clean and simple...not too fussy...I totally love the way it came out!!!

IN PREPARATION FOR EARTHDAY....

I thought I would ink up my a muse|studio tree stamp and have a go with a technique I have never tried before. Julie Ebersole did a video showing how to use your Tombow markers, acrylic blocks and a spray bottle of water to create a unique watercolor background, and also to give a lovely second generation stamping of your image....I really had a lot of fun creating the backgrounds, and I think for a first attempt this came out really fun!!

All cardstock, ribbon, stamps and French Roast pigment ink A Muse|Studio. Stamps from the Woodland Friends stamp set. Ribbon French Roast Grosgrain stitch. Papers: Sage polka dot and grass polka dot, fern solid and sage solid. Watercolor background and stamping done on watercolor paper. tomboy markers. See what you like and gotta have it?
